33：Small Chest Made in Shizuoka

This small chest was returned from Europe. It was made in Shizuoka City near Shimizu Port and exported by ship from the wharf in front of the Verkehr Museum.
This lacquerware features marquetry, a characteristic of Shizuoka lacquerware, and is decorated with an image of Mount Fuji. The black finish on the top and sides imitates the appearance of high-quality black pine.
